Letter from the President: A Fresh Step Forward

Dear Sponsor Members and Guests,
Thank you for your continued trust in the board as we work to make the best decisions for the future of our beloved club. As we’ve shared over the past year—and again this season—change is underway. Some shifts will be subtle, others more significant, but a vision guides all: to ensure another 35 years of dancing, music, and joyful connection rooted in the rich heritage of big band and social dance.
Beginning with our January 10th dance, we will be moving to a new venue: the newly renovated Pulliam Community Building in Loveland, specifically the beautiful Rehme Ballroom. This space offers the ambience, capacity, and character that align with our mission as Northern Colorado’s premier social dance club. It also provides room to better accommodate the bands we cherish—those who bring life, rhythm, and soul to our gatherings.
We understand this news may have come as a surprise. Please know this decision was not taken lightly. It was made with care, foresight, and a deep commitment to our club’s long-term vitality. Over the past months, we’ve closely monitored the renovation, attended multiple site tours, maintained open communication with the City of Loveland, and secured future dates that support our planning. The cost is comparable to our current arrangement at the Fort Collins Senior Center, but the value—both tangible and intangible—promises far greater returns for our growth and community impact. From gleaming hardwood floors and a larger stage to generous space for dancing and visiting, we believe the new venue will offer a truly beautiful and memorable experience.
We’re seeing encouraging signs of continued interest and expansion in social dancing across the region. Our own data and community feedback suggest we’re moving in step with a broader rhythm of renewal.
To support a smooth transition, the board will spend the next three months planning, visiting the site, and refining logistics. We anticipate a few hiccups in the first dance or two, but we’re committed to making this move as seamless and celebratory as possible.
If you’d like to be part of this exciting chapter, here are a few ways to get involved:
• Attend the Pulliam Community Building Grand Opening on November 8th, from 1–3 PM. Come experience the space and share in the community spirit. If you attend, we’d love for you to share your impressions.
• Join the Advisory Committee. We’ll be forming a small group to offer fresh perspectives and help guide the transition. I’m seeking two to three thoughtful individuals who want to see this change succeed and meaningfully contribute to this change,
• Stay tuned and prepare. We’re currently developing FAQs and ongoing communications to keep everyone informed and inspired.
This is a moment of renewal, and we’re thrilled about what lies ahead. Thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to dancing with you—new space, same heart.
Sincerely,
On behalf of the GTDC Board
